Ride is really very good. The S-Max ate up a 3 hour journey to Goodwood with ease, and we hopped out feeling suitably fresh. Handling is also well sorted. Build quality is great. It's built at Ford's factory in Germany. The 1.5 Diesel engine is superbly refined and quiet, and I average 56mpg with mixed town/motorway driving. The gear change is smooth. It's EURO6 (ULEZ) compliant, and emissions are just 105g/km. car tax is still only £20 per year.
